Honestly, I’ve been graduated since December 2018 ago. In this post I just want to share about my struggle through the college life until I graduated with an honorable mention.
Graha Widya Wisuda is a big hall that usually used as a place for graduation in my college. That day was special, with green long sleeve and black Toga, I accompanied my parents to their seat. Parents sit on the second floor while the graduates sit on the first floor. A few days before graduated, I’ve been called by student affair that I would be the most outstanding graduate from my faculty. It was mean my GPA was the highest among the other graduates. I was so happy to heard that, but I did not tell my parents about that, I want to make it as a surprise. Before I left my parents at their seat to walk to my seat, finally I tell my mom that I would be called as the most outstanding graduate from my faculty. My mom just smiled at me. She already knew how my struggle was to maintain my GPA as high as I can.
Graduation ceremony began with Indonesia Raya song. I throw back my memory to the first time I came to the college. August 2014 was the historical month for me, I was accepted by IPB University in the Department of Agroindustrial Technology (TIN IPB). Actually, TIN IPB was my second choice, my main choice was medical school because I want to be a doctor, but at that time I always failed to pass every medical school test. Honestly, it was hard to say that I enjoy my study in IPB. I remembered how tough it was to live in dormitory at my first year. Every new student in IPB must live in IPB dormitory and took Tingkat Persiapan Bersama (TPB) curriculums as their first-year study. Basically, the curriculums in TPB almost same with senior high school lesson yet much deeper. Therefore, I could follow the lesson faster and got GPA 4.00 in TPB (two semesters).
Although I got perfect scores, I still feel unsatisfied. I took medical school test again in my second year, but the result was same with the result in my first year. Despaired with medical school, I chosen to continue my study in IPB. At the second year, I start to get curriculums from my department like Introduction to Agroindustry, Agroindustrial Management, Supply Chain, Environmental Management, etc. Unexpectedly, I was very enjoyed to learn every subject that I got in my major. I become more active to joined some student organizations, moreover I ever got a role in strategic position at some organizations. To get more allowances, I also become private calculus mentor in a course place near my college. That allowance I used to take English Course because I realized that my English must be improved. Opportunity to traveling I also took when was in college by applied some scientific or marketing competitions from other university. Although I was not become finalist in every competition that I applied, but at least I ever travel to Semarang, Malang, even Thailand to become the finalist in the competition and presented the ideas I submitted before. Point plus joining competition like that was our accommodation is funded by our college :)
However, my study in IPB was not always smooth. I also got some gravels through my college life. It was seen from my historical GPA report, my GPA sometimes fallen down despite I’ve tried to keep up it. I often made mistake in my organizations like sometimes I could not manage my time, I ignored my responsibility, etc. I often lost in the competitions. I often forgot to do my homework. It could be said too that I a bit late to graduate. The most important for me, I got many lessons from everything I do or I got during my college. I realize 4 years was not a short time. It was a huge unforgettable and amazing experience. Now when I graduated, I just want to make it as precious memories that I can remembered. I want to make my knowledge that I got becomes useful for other people and my country, specially I can use it in my workplace later. Honestly, I really want to continue my journey to work in one of reputable FMCG Industry because I always curious about manufacturing processes and supply chain management. Yup, it is still my hope.
When Indonesia Raya has been finished, I turned my head to look at my parents. I sincerely thank to them for everything they have given to me, supports, prays, facilities, I know they really want to give the best for me. I hope that honorable mention could make them proud. I hope to myself too, I can meet my next journey soon so I am not bothering my parents again and I can be financially independent.

I am excited about lies ahead. Whatever I do in my next journey, I hope it is the best for me, I hope I can do with my whole heart. :)
